Looking for a fun and educational excursion in our area? Consider an outing to one of these wonderful attractions.

American Visionary Art Museum - This museum highlights America’s forward-looking innovators, optimists, dreamers and doers.

B & O Railroad Museum - To offer a wide variety of special events, lectures, displays, and family activities for railroad enthusiasts of all ages.

Baltimore Maritime Museum - The museum, located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, consists of the Coast Guard cutter Taney, the World War II submarine Torsk, the lightship Chesapeake, and the seven-foot Knoll lighthouse.

Baltimore Museum of Art - At the BMA, there is a surprise around every corner: fabulous exhibitions, engaging programming, and educational activities for adults and children alike.

Bear Branch Nature Center - The Center features a library resource room, a bird observation room, a discovery room, an exhibit hall, an auditorium, a 40-seat planetarium, and a gift shop.

Carroll County 4-H/FFA Fair - Offering country flavor and fun, the fair takes place the end of July/first week in August each year. Events include many 4-H and FFA members' exhibits of animals, clothing, flowers, garden vegetables, and photography, as well as a parade, Wednesday night Cake Auction, and horse and mule pulls.

Carroll County Arts Council - The Carroll Arts Center in Westminster includes an art gallery, a 263-seat theater, and three art classrooms.

Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks - Collectively, the recreation councils offer a multitude of programs ranging from aerobics to yoga.

Carroll County Family YMCA - Family services include child care, fitness, health, physical education, recreation, and youth sports programs.

Carroll County Farm Museum - This 140-acre museum features life on the farm in the late 1800s.

Carroll County Sports Complex - Provides sports leagues, tournaments and camps. Also offers organized recreational opportunities through various sports programs including softball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, and basketball.

Cascade Lake - A family-oriented water park in which to relax, play and enjoy the outdoors.

Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center - Charlotte’s Quest Nature Center features four and a half miles of nature trail open to the public from dawn to dusk for hiking and picnicking. It is habitat for many species of bird including finches, owls and bluebirds. Educational events are offered monthly. It operates under the direction of the Manchester Parks Foundation.

Kids@Carroll - Activities and courses include computer technology, science, the arts, languages and more.

Maryland Science Center - Constantly changing IMAX films and traveling exhibits, and special events and promotions mean that a visit to the Science Center is always different.

Maryland Zoo in Baltimore - Currently the Zoo’s animal collection encompasses more than 1,500 birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, representing nearly 200 species. Animals are displayed in natural settings replicating their native habitats.

National Aquarium in Baltimore - The Aquarium blends naturalistic exhibits with the most modern techniques, focusing on the beauty of the aquatic world and awakening in visitors the desire to be environmentally responsible.

Piney Run Nature Center - There are dozens of exhibits, including live reptiles, injured hawks, vultures, and owls. Naturalists are available to answer questions, lead hikes, and present programs.

Port discovery - Port Discovery, the Children's Museum in Baltimore, offers three floors of interactive, educational exhibits and programs for children ages 2-10 years old!

Walters Art Museum - The Walters Art Museum is internationally renowned for its collection from pre-dynastic Egypt to 20th-century Europe.
