The sky is falling...the sky is falling! Come find out why Chicken Little was right. We will explore comets (by making one), asteroids, dinosaurs, and the upcoming Leonid meteor shower. Join us and play Guess the Meteorite. Learn fun and unique ways to leave the planet, journey to the stars and still be back in time for dinner with Skip Bird, Observatory Director of the Westminster Astronomical Society. Time machines provided by the Westminster Astronomical Society. Observing of the Sun before and after the program, will be weather dependent.

A themed storytime featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, music, rhymes and stories followed by a playgroup for mingling. These storytimes will be held at Fairhaven Assisted Living in Sykesville. Residents will join us for the storytime and playgroup. Siblings are welcome. Children must be registered and accompanied by an adult caregiver. Fairhaven is located near downtown Sykesville. From Rt. 26, go south on Rt. 32 for 2 miles. Turn right at light onto Springfield Avenue. Make the first right onto Third Avenue. Enter Fairhaven gatehouse on the right, where parking is available.

Omakayas, a seven-year-old Ojibwe girl lives through the joys of summer and the perils of winter on an island in Lake Superior in 1847 and learns about her past. That's a 10-4, Good Buddy! Do you like trucks? Come to this special storytime and hear stories and songs about trucks. We'll also do a truck craft. Bring a small Matchbox truck and we'll have our own convoy. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
